HOTEL OVERVIEW

asDunas is located in a pristine location overlooking the wonderful Bazaruto Archipelago Marine Reserve & National Park, north side of Vilanculos in South Mozambique, 15 minutes driving from town center and 30 minutes from Vilanculos International Airport. The lodge’s beach is a golden-creamy coloured sandy wild beach that guests can easily and directly reach from their suite. Swimming and snorkeling in asDunas bay is very safe and absolutely beautiful, as the waters are protected by the Bazaruto Archipelago Islands and coral reef. Guests will enjoy private sea front areas and long lazy walks on the beach. If you want to kick back and relax by the sea, take advantage of the complimentary sun-shades, beach loungers and tables with beach service available from the friendly staff.

asDunas GOURMET EXPERIENCE is based on Mediterranean recipes and the best local ingredients, serving unique tastes of traditional & contemporary. Fresh fish is available daily from asDunas bay fishermen. Fresh vegetables, local fruits and herbs grown in the vegetable garden accompany delicious meals. There is always a selection of bread and several baked goods which are homemade and served fresh with every meal.

The Wellness & Spa program offers complimentary daily wellness treatments to restore and revitalize body, mind and soul. asDunas lodge has been designed to be a spa within itself and wellness treatments are available in 3 open-air pavilions dedicated to treatments, massages, meditation, yoga and gym. Pavilions are completely integrated in the wilderness, immersed into the tropical bush, feeling a true symbiosis with wild nature and surrounds. asDunas SPA only use natural alcohol-free and wax-free products, including fresh coconut oil sourced directly from local traditional producers and aloe vera cream for massages. Products are also on sale in the beauty shop.

Every sunset, according to the weather conditions, the team organize a private romantic aperitif on the top of the panoramic red dunes, easily accessible by foot. Dunes are fully equipped with safari-chairs and small tables, asDunas staff will provide all services.

8 SUITES only as a guarantee of exclusivity, maximum privacy and comfort for guests. All suites have PRIVATE POOL and sundeck, SEA VIEW and direct BEACH ACCESS. Suites include 2 Luxury Cottage Suites (2 or 3 people occupancy, king size bed + single bed) and 6 Luxury Safari Tented Suites (2 people sharing, 4x king size bed + 2x both king or twin beds as well). Maximum lodge occupancy is 18 people. The Safari Tented Suites represent a unique luxury tented option in Mozambique, to enjoy the real Safari experience into the wilderness in front of the wonderful Bazaruto Archipelago tropical sea.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

    As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class. Your hand-luggage should not weigh more than 6kg and needs to be small and compact.

    Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag. If you’re planning on adventuring around the island (there’s so much more to see and do outside of your hotel!) be sure to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes, and lots of suncream!

  • Take Your Own

    Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

    Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

    Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available free of charge or to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

    Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

    Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

    Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel! Travelling with kids – please check that you have all the relevant documents including unabridged Birth Certificates.

    It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re travelling outside of the country.
