Constance Belle Mare Plage - Mauritius

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Daring French style meets the tropics at this contemporary five-star family resort under thatch, on a 2km of east coast beach. Voted ‘Best Luxury Golf Resort in the Indian Ocean’ at the World Luxury Travel Awards 2016, it also boasts the region’s largest wine cellar.

Soft white sand, blue sky dotted with white clouds and turquoise lagoon which beckons long soaks… Stylishly renovated Constance Belle Mare Plage offers comfortable accommodations in a lively and cosy atmosphere. Choose from one of the 104 Prestige Rooms, 149 Junior Suites, 6 Deluxe Suites, 18 distinctive Villas or the Presidential Villa for a top-notch island holiday. Combining space and design, all rooms are thoughtfully furnished and decorated for your comfort.

The philosophy of ‘come as a guest, leave as a friend’, is reflected in the excellent service. Facilities include four pools (one heated), a plethora of complimentary watersports including water skiing, glass-bottomed boat tours and snorkelling trips, and a PADI dive centre. Free green fees are offered on Legend and the Links, two exclusive European Championship golf courses, where herds of Java deer emerge at dusk, and a mini-golf course. Its own brand U-Spa offers couples' rituals alongside manicures and pedicures devised by celebrity podiatrist, Brice Nicham.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class. Your hand-luggage should not weigh more than 6kg and needs to be small and compact.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag. If you’re planning on adventuring around the island (there’s so much more to see and do outside of your hotel!) be sure to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes, and lots of suncream!

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available free of charge or to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel! Travelling with kids – please check that you have all the relevant documents including unabridged Birth Certificates.

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
