Manga Soa Lodge - Madagascar

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Manga Soa Lodge is a destination of charm and authenticity in Nosy Be. The five bungalows consisting of en-suite bedrooms and a family villa are scattered amidst nature, right near the beach of Befefika. Each bungalow-category is named after a star. Their stargazing tours will give you a better understanding of this legacy - a special activity to note for when you’re there! The main objective of Manga Soa Lodge is to promote sustainable tourism in Nosy Be through the conservation of biodiversity, something that makes this property extra special.

The range of room types available are all en-suite and uniquely furnished with your confort in mind. The stunning panoramas strech across the ocean, with some of the rooms enjoying their own private veranda for you to indulge in a sundowner after a day of exploring the island or ocean.

All your meals can be catered for during your stay here and there is a wonderful on-site restaurant. The spacious dining room overlooks the kitchen and also provides you with stunning views across Befefika Bay. The lodge grows its own organic vegetables, which includes a range of herbs, ensuring that the dishes are comprised of the freshest ingredients. Breakfast is served in a continental style with a selection of fresh fruit and juices; dinner is an a la carte menu which changes due to the seasons.

Whilst being at this beautiful little lodge, you will have ample opportunities to discover your stunning surroundings and learn about the cultures within the area. For an entirely different perspective of the island, take a helicopter flight over Nosy Be - a truly remarkable experience. You can also scuba dive or snorkel in the crystal clear water near the lodge, where you can explore the vast array of marine life. If you prefer to stay within the grounds of the lodge you are able to indulge in a relaxing spa treatment or massage.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class. Your hand-luggage should not weigh more than 6kg and needs to be small and compact.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag. If you’re planning on adventuring around the area (there’s so much more to see and do outside of your lodge/hotel!) be sure to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes, and lots of suncream!

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though some properties have this equipment available free of charge or to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your final destination). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel! Travelling with kids – please check that you have all the relevant documents including unabridged Birth Certificates.

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
