Sakatia Lodge - Madagascar
HOTEL OVERVIEW
If you’re looking for somewhere completely unique, on an island so unspoiled it has no roads but with access to lots of activities on-site and in the surrounding areas, Sakatia Lodge is for you. As a small family-run lodge, you will be welcomed as guests, but you’ll leave as friends. Start the day with a fresh and tasty breakfast, enjoy snacks at the bar and finish with a three-course meal, topped off with a complimentary local rum. This is how holidays should be!
Tucked away in beautiful lush gardens surrounded by Madagascar’s amazing flora & fauna, or situated right on the beach, you’ll find a lovely selection of accommodation at Sakatia Lodge for solo travellers, couples, families and groups alike. Something for everyone.
Beach life at the Lodge is relaxing but if you’re looking for more to do, there is plenty on offer from massages to island walks and snorkelling with turtles. The onsite dive center, staffed by passionate and experienced instructors, means it’s easy and fun to explore the underwater world. Whether you’re an experienced diver or want to try diving for the first time, this is the perfect place to experience beautiful reefs and the stunningly weird and wonderful creatures that live there. Be as energetic or laid-back as you like! Take advantage of the day trips and excursions if you feel like an outing; from the turquoise waters and white sand of Nosy Iranja to the fantastic snorkelling of Nosy Tanikely or markets of Nosy Be, you will find lots of options to see Madagascar from your base here.

What To Pack
As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class. Your hand-luggage should not weigh more than 6kg and needs to be small and compact.
Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag. If you’re planning on adventuring around the area (there’s so much more to see and do outside of your lodge/hotel!) be sure to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes, and lots of suncream!
-
Take Your Own
Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.
Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).
Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though some properties have this equipment available free of charge or to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.
Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

Travel Tips
Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your final destination). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.
Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel! Travelling with kids – please check that you have all the relevant documents including unabridged Birth Certificates.
It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
