Sandies Bathala Resort
HOTEL OVERVIEW
This all-inclusive resort is perfectly placed to explore the North Ari Atoll’s spectacular underwater world. Sandies Bathala opened in 2019 and it brings a great-value all-inclusive option to the Ari Atoll. This small island is located along the north-eastern rim of the atoll, just a 15-minute scenic seaplane ride from Malé airport, and it has long been a popular spot with divers from all around the globe.
The house reef surrounding the island is stunning, with colourful fish, reef sharks and turtles regularly spotted. Head beyond the reef with the experienced PADI and SSI dive crew, or venture out on a snorkelling trip where you can stop on a desert island for lunch. Bathala will also offer night snorkelling for a totally different perspective of the ocean and marine life. If you prefer a dip in the pool then the infinity pool here is a great spot to cool off.
For dining, there's the buffet-style Island Gallery – where all your meals are included – with a fresh fish barbecue, live cooking stations and local dishes. For a special occasion, treat yourself to a 'Beach Grill' night. During this toes-in-the-sand dining experience, you can dine freshly caught seafood specialties and fresh lobster menus in a romantic setting on the beach. Guests can quench their thirst at the Island Bar, which will be a great place to relax and unwind after exploring the magnificent marine life. Accommodation options are refreshingly simple; choose to stay in a charming beach bungalow or water villa. There are no TVs in the rooms to help you completely switch off.

What To Pack
As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class
If you’re taking a seaplane transfer, the luggage allowance is a little more restrictive than your commercial flight - you are allowed 20kg per person of baggage and one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5kg.
Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag
-
Take Your Own
Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.
Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).
Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.
Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

Travel Tips
Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.
Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel!
It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
