Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives
HOTEL OVERVIEW
Unforgettable, authentic experiences in a delightful setting, delivered with genuine warmth and heartfelt hospitality by a dream team of Maldivans. Choose from a wide range of activities – or choose to do nothing at all except channel a Robinson Crusoe vibe, sitting under a palm tree looking out at the ocean. For an authentic and delightful island hideaway paradise, perfect for couples, honeymooners, and families alike.
Surrounded by kilometers of silky-powdery blond beach, shallow aquamarine lagoons with clear-as-glass water, and lush tropical vegetation, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is set on Noonu Atoll (also known as Southern Miladhunmadulu Atoll) in the Indian Ocean, right on the ancient Japan-Africa-India (tea) trade route. It can be reached via a thrilling 45-minute seaplane flight from the Maldivian capital, Male.
The resort is blessed with an abundance of lush greenery and natural shade, including slim and tall coconut palms and striking screw pines, aka giraffe trees, that look like gangly giraffes, with their long and slender overground roots anchoring them in the sand. The banyan trees, with their iconic, hairlike hanging roots, are showstopping, as are the large glossy leaves of the dhigga tree and the mango pine, with its big, pulpy fruits. Hibiscus trees, with their beautiful cup-shaped bright red flowers, and striking red and pink bougainvillea trees line the sandy pathways, connecting the beach villas and public spaces. The large and leafy magoo fai, or sea lettuce, grows by the beach area.
It takes just 25 to 30 minutes to walk around the entire island, which is a slim 800m long and spans 21 kilometers. Despite being one of the larger resorts, it maintains a lovely, secluded hideaway atmosphere and never feels crowded. It’s an obvious choice for loved-up couples and honeymooners on the hunt for an escape to paradise, but Iru Fushi is also well-suited to a family vacation, with plenty of fun on offer for children and teenagers. For those looking for a more grown-up vibe: there are also dedicated adults-only zones and plenty of space for rest, relaxation, and romance.

What To Pack
As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class
If you’re taking a seaplane transfer, the luggage allowance is a little more restrictive than your commercial flight - you are allowed 20kg per person of baggage and one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5kg.
Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag
-
Take Your Own
Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.
Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).
Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.
Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

Travel Tips
Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.
Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel!
It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
